Dagmar arrives to Portugal

D·AGENCY IS THE OFFICIAL AGENT OF DAGMAR IN PORTUGAL

An international reference in 20th-century Scandinavian design - where each piece tells a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and enduring elegance - arrives in Lisbon, with a selection of pieces that reflect timeless design passed down through generations — D·Agency is now the official agent of the Dagmar brand in Portugal.

Timeless design that transcends generations.

Founded in 2014, Dagmar is dedicated to the reinterpretation and preservation of the great classics of Nordic modernism. Among its most renowned reissues is the Clam Chair, designed by Danish creative Arnold Madsen — a sculptural piece and one of the most iconic and sought-after chair designs of the 20th century, available in a variety of finishes. The brand’s catalogue features two complementary collections — Classic, consisting of reissued original designs from the 1930s to the 1970s, handcrafted in Denmark and Sweden — and Vintage, which brings together original and rare furniture, meticulously restored in London.

A true statement piece, the Clam Chair is the work of Danish upholsterer and designer Arnold Madsen, who crafted it in the late 1940s with a deep understanding of form and comfort. Celebrated for its sculptural, shell-like silhouette and enveloping seat, the chair reflects Madsen’s unique approach—merging artisanal skill with modernist ideals. Dagmar’s meticulous reissue honours the original craftsmanship, reviving a design icon that continues to resonate with contemporary audiences for its authenticity, warmth, and timeless appeal.

With a firm commitment to sustainability, quality and lasting functionality, Dagmar stands out for its rigorous material selection and fidelity to traditional manufacturing techniques — blending past and present. The result is a cohesive collection that balances design heritage with contemporary relevance. The brand will be physically present in Portugal, with a curated selection of pieces on display at the Ding Dong Lisbon showroom.
