Sustainable Luxury
PELICAN HOUSE, FERMOIE & DAGMAR
3 DESIGN BRANDS WITH SUSTAINABLE CONSCIENCE
The concept of luxury is constantly evolving. It still rests on excellence, attention to detail, and durability — but today, it also embraces a more conscious dimension.
At D·Agency Ding Dong, we seek out brands that combine aesthetic precision and exceptional quality with a responsible approach — in how they produce, the materials they use, and, above all, the respect they show for everyone involved in the process.
PELICAN HOUSE
Founded in Rajasthan in 2021, Pelican House was born from a desire to bring contemporary design closer to India’s roots. Its pieces combine expressive forms with a bold visual language, while maintaining deep respect for traditional rhythms and handcrafted techniques.
Each rug is the result of a direct relationship between designers and local artisans — a collaborative process that values time, intention, and detail. The outcome is a collection of richly textured, symbolically layered compositions that bring identity and presence to any space. The brand stands out not only for its distinctive aesthetic, but also for its commitment to transparent and conscious production — working in partnership with organizations such as Label STEP and GoodWeave, which ensure ethical and sustainable working conditions.
FERMOIE
Based in the UK, Fermoie is a fabric and wallpaper brand known for its use of colour, texture, and British tradition.
The entire process — from design to production — takes place in-house at the brand’s factory in Marlborough, where traditional printing techniques are applied to high-quality cotton and linen using water-based inks. This local approach not only helps reduce waste, but also ensures agility and full control over quality standards. Orders are made to measure and can be delivered in just five days — without ever compromising on technical precision or the beauty of the final result.
DAGMAR
Inspired by the golden age of Scandinavian design (1930–1970), Dagmar — founded in London in 2014 — brings classic and vintage pieces back to life with exceptional material precision.
Each item is crafted by skilled artisans in workshops across Denmark and Sweden, using traditional methods that honour the original spirit of the designs. With a focus on longevity, the brand works exclusively with high-quality woods and manual techniques that ensure every piece ages with a unique character. Its philosophy is simple: timeless design made to last for generations — and to reduce the consumption of resources.
